Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff and Prime Minister Patrick Manning
On October 26, Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff and Prime Minister Patrick Manning signed a Memorandum of Intent between the United States of America and CARICOM to implement an Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS) for Cricket World Cup.  APIS will help screen travelers coming to the region to ensure that no terrorist or major transnational criminals will be able to disrupt the major sporting event.

The signing ceremony was the capstone event in Secretary Chertoff's visit to Trinidad and Tobago, during which he held bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Manning and Minister of National Security Martin Joseph on improving regional security cooperation and a multilateral meeting with CARICOM representatives on Cricket World Cup security matters, natural disaster planning and other areas of collaboration.
