U.S. Embassy donates athletic equipment

U.S. Ambassador Dr. Roy L. Austin will donate athletic equipment to the Predator Football Club on Wednesday, June 25 at 10:00 a.m. at the U.S. Information Resource Center, 7-9 Marli Street.  Members of the media including photographers are invited to attend.

The football equipment is funded by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) at the U.S. Department of State, which advises the U.S. President and other agencies on the development of policies and programs to combat international narcotics and crime. Each year, money is used to provide alternative programs as well as training to at-risk youth throughout Trinidad and Tobago.  Last year St. Joseph's College received sports equipment, and previously Belmont Boys' R.C. School was given computers to teach students new skills.

Predators Football Club was founded by Krishna Murity Ramjit in 2001 as the Cunupia International All-Stars Football Club in order to positively develop the youth of the Cunupia community through football. Since then, the club has provided a facility so that the youth of the Cunupia community can play and enjoy football as well as develop their skills and technical abilities as footballers
