Ambassador Austin Donates Sports Equipment to St. Joseph's College
U.S. Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Roy L. Austin, donated sports equipment to St. Joseph’s College on December 12. At the ceremony, held at the U.S. Embassy, Ambassador Austin presented ping-pong paddles, a basketball, a soccer ball, basketball nets, and marking cones to a group of students and faculty from St. Joseph' College. As part of the same donation, a ping-pong table had been earlier delivered directly to the school.
Receiving the donation were Principal Kester De Verteuil, teachers Holly Moira and Selwyn Simmons, and students Kurlene Lewis, Shane Roopchand, and Mindy Walker.
The donation is part of the U.S. effort to work with local authorities, schools, and non-governmental organizations to reduce drug abuse through prevention and treatment.
