Premiere of Harrison Ford’s “Don’t Buy It”

 Don't Buy It -1
Amb. Austin with Colours of Life student artists  Full Size
The premiere showcased three television public service announcements to combat wildlife trafficking. U.S. Ambassador Dr. Roy L. Austin and Antony Ramnarine, Conservator of Forests and Chief Game Warden, offered brief remarks. Colours of Life student artists, 16-year-old Offima Davis of Mount Hope Secondary School and 10-year-old Michel James of Good Shepherd Anglican Private School, presented artwork from the Endangered Species traveling exhibition currently on display at UN House, Port of Spain.

Wildlife trafficking is a growing black market conservatively estimated to be worth $10 billion a year. The trade is often linked to other forms of organized crime, including the smuggling of drugs, weapons and people.

Copies of the three Public Service Announcements starring Harrison Ford will be available to all television stations and to others on a first come, first served basis. For further information please contact the Public Affairs Section at 822-5585.
