Emergency/Expedited Appointments

Requesting Emergency/Expedited Appointments

In order to request an emergency/expedited appointment you must first pay the 131 USD application fee at any TTPost outlet, then complete the application form and make an appointment on line, click here.

Delays caused by the issuance of the new Trinidad and Tobago passport do not constitute an emergency. Please schedule an appointment when you believe you will have your new passport. On the day of the appointment you may update your application with the correct passport number.

After you have secured an appointment, email or fax your request for an early appointment to 822-5955 or consularpos@state.gov

Qualifying for Emergency/Expedited Appointments

Due to the volume of non-immigrant visa appointments, we are able to grant emergency/expedited appointments only under the following conditions:

1. Legitimate, emergency business travel The travel must be of an urgent and compelling nature. Your request should include the following: why the travel is urgent, the impact to the organization/business if this individual cannot travel on the date desired, and why this is the only person who can attend this event.

2. Medical Emergencies Only the patient and one (1) immediate family member with a letter from the hospital are authorized to apply for the appointment.

3. Death Only immediate family members with a copy of the death certificate will be considered for the appointment.

4. Cultural events or exchanges that are significant and mutually beneficially to the U.S. Government, and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.

Notification of the Appointment

Successful applicants for an emergency/expedited appointment will be contacted directly by our office to schedule your appointment. Unfortunately, due to the sheer volume of requests received, if you do not hear from our office within three days your request has been denied. Requests for an emergency/expedited appointments, which are denied, will be notified by mail only.
