College Fair 2011 - Another Successful Event

On October 29-30, 2011, the U.S. Embassy celebrated its 10th college fair anniversary.  Representatives from 75 colleges and universities from the U.S., Canada, Grenada, and Trinidad and Tobago, as well as the CXC in Barbados, the Organization of American States, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education, the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago, two local banks offering student loans, and other related organizations, met with hordes of local students, their parents, and others members of the public at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad in Port of Spain. 

College Fair 2011 saw more than 2,000 students informed, advised and on their way to tertiary education.  The U.S. Embassy Trinidad Facebook page enjoyed an increase of over 1,000 fans, as young people looked at photos and information on the site.  In addition, several Embassy consular officers worked at the Fair to conduct presentations and outreach to 500-600 interested persons, and took individual questions.
