June 19, 2012: Visiting librarians from the Library of Congress on June 18, 2012 paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Beatrice W. Welters and DCM David Wolfe at the U.S. Embassy, Port of Spain.

The librarians were in Trinidad and Tobago attending a seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials (SALALM) hosted by the University of the West Indies and the Library Association of Trinidad and Tobago (LATT) from June 16 – 19, 2012.

SALALM’s primary missions are the control and dissemination of bibliographic information about all types of Latin American publications and the development of library collections of Latin Americana in support of educational research.

The librarians also toured the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) at Corner Abercromy and Hart Streets, Port of Spain during their visit.
