January 27, 2012: Ambassador Beatrice W. Welters on January 27, 2012 delivered remarks at the graduation ceremony of firearm instructors of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) who were trained by instructors of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).

The short ceremony was held at the Police Training Academy, St James, Port of Spain.

The three week training course was part of the continuing collaboration between the U.S. Embassy and the TTPS through the Academy to assist in building capacity within the TTPS.

Ambassador Welters expressed the hope that the training would benefit all members of the TTPS, pointing out that multiple U.S. enforcement agencies have provided train-the-trainer courses across a variety of disciplines.
