U.S. Announces Foreign Service Examination

The U.S. State Department has announced that the United States of America 2005 Foreign Service Written Examination will be administered on April 23, 2005. The U.S. Information Resource Center at 7-9 Marli Street, Port of Spain will be the venue for persons residing in Trinidad and Tobago.

U.S. citizens residing in Trinidad and Tobago wishing to take the examination are advised that the deadline for receipt of applications is 5:00 p.m. on March 16, 2005. The application can be submitted on-line by visiting the State Department website http://www.careers.state.gov.

All applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

a. Be a citizen of the United States;
b. Be at least 20 years old and no older than 59 years on the date of the exam
c. Be available for worldwide assignment; not have been previously separated from the Foreign Service due to retirement, expiration of time in class, retirement based on relative performance or separation for cause
