2004 Press Releases
Official Statement on Recent Deportees
February 19, 2004
With reference to the three citizens of Trinidad and Tobago deported
from JFK Airport in New York on Monday, February 16, 2004, the
immigration officers used information available to them at the time
each individual requested entry into the United States.
Normally in such cases, immigration officials would establish that
each of these persons had violated the terms of their entry into the
United States in the past, and that they had invalidated themselves for
entry in the future as a
result.
Deportees are normally given a package explaining the
reasons for the action. You may wish to approach the persons directly
and request their permission to study the package for information
relating to their cases.
