2004 Press Releases
TT Post to Handle U.S. Visa Fees and Appointments, effective June 1, 2004
May 18, 2004
The
U.S. Embassy is pleased to advise the traveling public that effective
June 1, 2004, TTPOST will replace Scotiabank in the collection of U.S.
visa fees and the scheduling of visa appointments. Scotiabank will stop
providing this service on Friday, May 28, the last business day of May
2004. The Scotiabank appointments center will remain open until June 11
for those who have paid their fees through Scotiabank.
From
June 1 on, applicants for U.S. visas will be able to call a specific
telephone number at TTPost to make appointments the day after paying
the visa fee. The cost of the appointment and processing fee will also
remain at U.S. $100 U.S. Dollars. For those paying in TT Dollars it
will be $630, reflecting the current U.S. – TT Dollar exchange rate.
This
announcement does not apply to U.S. immigrant visas, only temporary
visas. All other regulations for non-immigrant visas will remain in
effect.
We expect that this will be easier on the traveling
public because TTPost billing offices are strategically located
throughout the nation and are open for business during regular hours
Monday through Friday, and also on Saturdays.
