U.S. Embassy supports Drug Demand Reduction

May 18, 2005

United States Ambassador
Dr. Roy L. Austin
Check presentation to SERVOL

Father Pantin, Sister Montrichard, SERVOL members, members of the press and ladies and gentlemen, good morning. It is with great pleasure that I, on behalf of the United States of America and its International Narcotics and law Enforcement Program, present SERVOL with this check for $15,000 US dollars to further assist in refurbishing some of its early childhood education centers. This check represents our continued commitment to support SERVOL’s Early Education Centers throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

The earlier we get children into schools and expose them to positive influences, the more likely are we to prevent them from developing criminal tendencies, including involvement with illegal drugs.

Therefore, Sister Montrichard, please accept this check and best wishes to you and the SERVOL family.
