U.S. Embassy observes National Day of Mourning for President Reagan

Former United States President Ronald Reagan died on Saturday, June 6 at his
home in California. President Reagan served as Governor of the State of
California from 1966-1974 and became the fortieth (40th) President of
the United States in 1981, he served two terms until 1989.
President
George W. Bush in paying tribute to President Reagan said the
following: “Through his courage and determination, he enhanced
America’s security and advanced the spread of peace, liberty, and
democracy to millions of people who had lived in darkness and
oppression. As America’s President, Ronald Reagan helped change the
world.”
President Bush has declared Friday, June 11 a National
Day of Mourning in memory of President Reagan and all offices of the
Federal Government will be closed on that day. The United States
Embassy and the United States Information Resource Center will both be
closed on Friday.
President Reagan will be buried on the grounds
of the Reagan Presidential Library in California after a state funeral
in Washington, D.C. on Friday, June 11.
A condolence book will
be available for members of the public who wish to pay their respect,
at the United States Information Resource Center, 7-9 Marli Street from
6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, until July 6, 2004.
