Step 4: On the Day of the Appointment
Come to the Embassy on the day of your scheduled interview with all the required documents. Children under 18 must be accompanied by both or atleast one parent or court-ordered guardian. Both parents’ or guardians’ passports and a permission letter from any absent parent should be brought to the interview.
Please note: In order to secure the safety of our applicants and to ensure that our security screening procedures do not delay or hinder entrance to the Embassy; the following items are NOT allowed: We strongly recommend that these items be left at home or with a trusted individual since the U.S. Embassy cannot be held accountable for lost or stolen items. The U.S. Embassy is not associated with, and does not endorse any specific vendor, who might seek to store such items. Interview Wait Time Expect to spend approximately two hours at the embassy. We recommend that applicants especially those with small children or those who may be diabetic bring a snack and non-alcoholic beverage (plastic containers only). Fingerprinting Fingerprints are required and will be collected electronically for all applicants who are, on the day of their interview, between 14 and 80 years of age.
