USS Doyle Frigate to Visit Trinidad

 USS Doyle2
The Frigate USS Doyle will arrive in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, for a port visit on September 3, 2009.  The ship is participating in the Southern Seas Deployment 2009, an annual naval deployment to the Caribbean, South and Central America, to reinforce interactions with countries in the region and to provide opportunities for participating nations to train and learn from each other.

The US and Trinidad and Tobago have had a strong working relationship, and often participate in bilateral and multilateral exercises. While in Trinidad, the Doyle crew will be conducting professional exchanges with sailors from the Coast Guard, in order to give sailors from both countries an opportunity to share best practices and methodologies in a number of areas.  In addition, during their visit the Doyle crew will visit two local schools to donate materials and help with renovations, and will also engage Trinidadian sailors in sporting events.
