Visa Appointment System
The Non-Immigrant Visa Section of the United States Embassy operates under a visa appointment system. Applicants for B1/B2 visitor visas must schedule an appointment for their visa interview.
Announcing the new online visa appointment system
Effective January 1, 2008 all appointments on or after February 15 must be made online with the State Department's new online appointment system.
A visa is required for Trinidad and Tobago nationals wishing to visit the United States. The process for applying for a visa at U.S. Embassy Port of Spain is detailed below.
How to schedule an online appointment
DO NOT MAKE MORE THAN ONE APPOINTMENT PER PERSON. INDIVIDUALS VIOLATING THIS POLICY WILL BE PENALIZED.
NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES (MOBILE PHONES, PDA’S, RADIOS, ETC) OF ANY TYPE ARE ALLOWED INTO THE EMBASSY WAITING AREA. EMBASSY STAFF WILL NOT HOLD OR SECURE THESE ITEMS FOR YOU. PLEASE LEAVE THESE ITEMS AT HOME, IN YOUR CAR OR MAKE OTHER ARRANGEMENTS.

Groups of five or more must contact the Consular Section to schedule an appointment.
Applicants for student, exchange visitor, temporary worker, crewmember, or transit visas may appear for an interview between 7:30 AM and 10:30 AM Monday through Thursday, except U.S. and Trinidad and Tobago holidays. For more information on the application process, click here.

Please note that in order to secure the safety of our applicants and to ensure that our security screening procedures do not delay or hinder entrance to the Embassy, no electronic devices, including cell telephones, may be brought into the Embassy. Weapons of any kind, large backpacks, suitcases and glass containers are also not permitted. We suggest that all such items be left at home, in a locked car, or with a friend or relative who remains outside the premises. Applicants will only be allowed to bring in documents that are relevant to the visa application.
